Most of my work is carved from white pine.It is hand carved using mostly a utility knife.I carve charactures of local people, fishermen,Pipers,Fiddlers,Coal miners,Farmers ,etc.Also Whimsical carvings of birds,fish,dogs,cats ,etc.My hand carved Santas are popular also.I also do commisioned carving ,NO MONEY UP FRONT contact me with your ideas.josefthecarver@yahoo.ca

Josef began carving in 1994 when one day from sheer boredom he picked up a piece of wood and started,liked the result,so here we are.He has his work in many folk art collections all around the world.This is due mainly to his studio gallery on the world famous Cabot Trail in Cape Breton ,N.S. Canada.,and exibiting his work at many festivals and shows,like The Lunnenburg Folk Art Festival along with 50 other folk artists that are there by invitation only.
