Around the year 2000, I saw a painting by Big Al Taplet from New Orleans, LA. That was all it took--I became hooked on Folk Art. After years of trying to make my way down to New Orleans to meet Big Al, it finally happened in March of 2005. I met Big Al in Jackson Square, and purchased a small painting. I was also able to have my picture taken with him, which was a dream come true.
When I returned home, I decided to follow in Big Al's footsteps, and express myself through Folk Art. I have been steam rolling ahead ever since.
